ai yi yi....no ranting for quite some time.... just writing some new material and about to have some things up on snocap that you have not heard before so stay tuned. curious how many of you will use snocap now that myspace has taken over the world. have the songs for the new record ...now just figuring out how I'm going to get it recorded. weeeeeeee. wish me luck that all of the right parts will fall into place 'cause I sure have no idea how it's going to happen. so, prepping for my gig up in seattle. hope some of you will be there to drink of the wine and dance of the music. just finished the second of two films I worked on this summer. Hopefully at least one of them will be up at Sundance. interesting projects. so, just checking in, wishing I was having a little bit more fun than work work. but, there is always August. and I just turned down 3 weeks on a Lifetime movie where I would have had to be freaked out everyday. (character was in hell....in a LIfetime way) so, working on the new songs for the next cd and enjoying the way of the hominid. b

also, forgot to write to tell those interested about what a great time I had on the TONIGHT SHOW. Jay and his booker COULD NOT be nicer people. I have been a bad little bird not writing for all of this time. Most recently I have been working on a film with Mr cavanaugh (lead in ED and Love Monkey for those who watch TV) and a host of other wonderful actors and film makers. The film is called SUBLIME and Tom and I play husband and wife in a very sordid tale of fear made manifest. psychologically stimulating, not horror. really having a great time. Supposed to start another film right after this and THEN playing Chateau something or other winery / amphitheater in Seattle opening for Pink Martini July 22 and 23. Hope some of you can come and watch and then say hi afterwards. Working on new songs for my next record. Guess some of you have heard me recently on CSI new york and HOUSE, thanks for the emails. so sweet. so have a lovely summer, kiddies, will try to write more and get some NEW THINGS up on the site. as well as some give away songs for those registered in the forum much love birdy

just got back from DC. was invited to sing for a small group hosted by Richard Gere and the RIAA . A group of Senators all pushing for a large allocation to support AIDS prevention and assistance globally. it was a wonderful event. honored to be invited. Hopped over to XM satelitte. met BOB Edwards, whose show I did last month (got to see the face behind the voice) and did some voice tags for THE LOFT. but of course had to run to the smithsonian in the 45 minutes I had between things. i will put up some pics of my history sprint. (went to the american history museum there). meanwhile. NEW quicktime MOVIE up in the RANTS Albums (above). under promo. check it out. download it if you wanna, spread the love through email if you feel inclined. best birdness

ocar land. what a RIDE THIS HAS BEEN. gowns, stylists, cars on fire. I made it through. Had a REALLY GREAT TIME singing sunday night. really was something. so did not think about there being half a billion people on the other end of it. just sang to the nice people in the red velvet chairs in front of me. Sang to Dolly, sang to Stephen, sang to Marc Anthony. had this strange calm come over me. thank GOD. now, getting this record out into the world. gonna be doing the tonight show. and fergason. will give a heads up on the event page. thank you to EVERYONE who sent me a note . wow. been working very hard getting this record set up and out the door. yeow. hopefully will have more time to post. working on the new web site that is going to be hot hot. amazing new designer I found to implement some whacky ideas that have been floating around. it will be much easier for me to be more involved in posting things day to day. and more interactive. Oscar voting is Jan 17 and 23 for best song in LA. would really be a pr godsend if IN THE DEEP gets noticed. so, will post some stuff up in rants albums for you all to take a look at. miss birdy

well, back to the land of LA. Had a really nice time shooting the television movie up in Nova, great people. Spent some time writing a song for Paul Haggis new series.(with Thom Russo) we'll see if it makes it in. and perfecting some of the new songs for WICKED LITTLE HIGH, due out in jan 06 new photos to check out in ALBUMS above

charlie kaufman- meryl streep

last night, took a break from the studio and went to see this piece of theater Charlie Kaufman thought up. amazing. three actors on stage,(meryl being one) a full band, a conductor (the celebrated Carter Burwell who scores Charlie's films) and a foley artist. really was an amazing radio play with all of the actors , sound effects and musicians working in tandem to create a very Kaufman-esque world. other than that, working on these new songs. New (including some Velvet Hour songs) cd due out at end of January with major distribution. yay. it will be called. WICKED LITTLE HIGH. going to post an mp3 of a live performance for FORUM MEMBERS.
